  Ceanothus griseus horizontalis  

  40-50 species in genus Ceanothus. Vigorous evergreen shrub producing
alternate ovate glossy dark green leaves to 2". Can spread up to 10', and reach 10' in height. Characteristic of ceanothus is a 3-veined leaf structure.

Same family as coffeeberry. Some species of Ceanothus can be trained as small trees up to 20'. Deer love it, and attracts bees.
