From Asia, slow to moderate growing evergreen shrub. Design height is 4', mature height is 6 to 8' - though generally kept low.
Small simple leaves, oppositely arranged (as are 99% of leaves in Oleaceae family). 1/2 to 1" long, 1/4 to 3/8" wide, dark green
and glossy serrated and elliptic to ovate. Nice contrast between old and new growth. White flowers, 1/4 to 1/3", blooms in March and April. Black small fruit in autumn.
Prefers full to part sun, high to light water, loamy soil. Tolerates drought.
Propagate by cutting. Little pruning required, tolerates clipping. Use as a foundation border, as a clipped hedge, informal, as a
screen, or wall cascade. Could be great as a bonsai or small container plant.
