  Evergreen shrub. Design height is 12', mature height can be 30'. Moderate growth. Simple leaves, alternately arranged, 1/2" long, gray-green elliptical, obovate/oblanceolate. White simple flowers, 1/2", blooms March through June. Prefers full sun, light to no water, loam and sandy soil. Tolerates poor soil, drought, salt air, wind and heat. Little pruning required. Good multi-trunked tree, thin, tolerates clipping. Prune into live wood only to enhance weeping foliage.

Use as a background, for erosion control, as a clipped hedge, informal hedge, screen, windbreak, on the coast. Good substitute for olive trees. Great for reclamation or stabilizing moving sand.
