From China, Korea and Japan. Moderate growth deciduous tree, to 35' design height or 50' mature height. Design spread is 35', with mature height at 50'. Dark green scalloped and oval leaves, 4" long.
Small green flowers, dark orange and spherical fruit.
Prefers full to part sun, little water, well-drained fertile soil. Tolerates drought, saline, alkaline ph, wind, heat,
cold, desert conditions, and irrigation. Subject to mushroom root rot, leaf spot, mites, nematodes and leaf gall.
Prune when dormant, to shape. Can be used as shade tree, on street, pation, lawn, good for winter silhouette. |
