  Moderate to fast growing evergreen tree, from Mediterranean climates in Europe and Africa. Design height is 30, spread is 25'. Mature height is 60', with spread at 40'. Green/grey wispy soft needles, up to 2 1/2" long.

Insignificant flowers. Ovate cones, from 3 1/2 to 5 1/2". Likes full sun, tolerates wind, poor soil, salt air and drought. Subject to Western Gall rust and spider mites. Propagates by seed. No pruning needed. Use for erosion control, on the coast, as a windbreak, and for shipbuilding.
