From Australia. Moderate to fast growing evergreen tree. Design height is 25' with mature height at 60'; design spread
is 10' with mature spread at 20'. Simple oppositely arranged leaves, 1 1/2 - 3" long by 1" wide, medium green and glossy, entire and elliptic.
Creamy white 1/2" flowers, in summer. Magenta and oblong 1" berries. Prefers full sun to partial shade, use an ample amount of water, all soil types OK. Tolerates shearing and clipping. Naturally well groomed. Propagate by seed, cutting, self-sows prolifically. Subject to scale, aphids, mealybugs and thrips.
Use as a specimen tree, as a screen/windbreak hedge, can be espaliered, formed as topiary and grown in containers. |
