  From Chile and Argentina. Moderate growth evergreen tree, design height and spread is 5'. Mature height is 20', mature spread is 10'. Simple oppositely arranged dark green 1/2 to 1" leaves, entire and glabrous. White to pink 1/2" flowers. Blue-black 1/2" berries. Beautiful cinnamon bark.

Prefers sun or shade, ample water, many soil types. Tolerates drought, shearing, shade, OK as lawn, under irrigation (?). Does well even when neglected. Propagate by cuttings and seed. Prune to shape, to expose trunk.

Uses: hedge, lawn tree, specimen, visual screen, and in a container. Multitrunked.
