From Asia. Slow to moderate growth deciduous vine with aerial rootlets. Design height and spread are 20', mature height is 20' and mature spread is 50'. Simple alternately arranged dark green 2 to 5" leaves, serrate and ovate. Flowers: corymb (?), white, in May and June, and intermittently in July. Conspicuous petioles. Insignificant fruit.
Prefers part sun, high to moderate water, loam and sandy soil. Propagate by cuttings and seed. Little pruning required, but if doing so, prune after bloom. Blooms on old wood. Use as an espalier.
