  From Eastern U.S. Moderate to fast growth deciduous tree. Design and mature height 40'; design and mature spread is 60'. 6" long bright green and glossy, deeply cut and pointed lobes. Beautiful fall color. Flowers: in catkins, mid spring to early summer. 1/2" to 1 1/4" acorns, brown and ovoid in fall.

Prefers full sun, deep, fertile and well-drained soil.Borers, caterpillars, leaf miners, skeletonizers, scale insects, and leaf rollers can be a problem. Propagates by dropping acorns. Use as a lawn or street tree, if you don't mind raking a lot of leaves.
