From Mexico. Moderate growth evergreen shrub. Design height and spread 5'; mature height is 6' with mature
spread at 10'. 6' gray green linear, lanceolate spiny leaves. Blooms every ten years, yellow-green flowers. Has black ovoid seeds. Does not tolerate frost. Prefers full sun, keep in winter. Likes slightly acid, moderately fertile soil; tolerates
drought, acid soil and heat. Subject to scale, mealy-bugs, leaf blight, rootrot in areas with poor drainage.
Propagation: Off-shoot, leaf. Don't prune this. Use as an accent, as an emphasis in succulent gardens. 'Marginata' has white margins - opposite of Agave americana
