| Rounded evergreen tree from the Mediterrancean and North Africa, grows to about 70'. Thick corky bark. Compared to Q. agrifolia: Q. agrifolia leaves are lighter green. Q. suber leaves are flatter, ashier on
underside. Veins on leaf are more parallel than on Q. agrifolia, rake of veins is much more pronounced, and bristles are longer. Photos taken at the College of Marin. |
