    Quercus lobata

  Deeply-furrowed, gray to brown bark is very characteristic of this species. One of 2 most endangered oaks in California (it's native to California). Deciduous, spreading, grows to about 50'. Leaves are obovate, dark green, to 3" long, each divided into 11 lobes, hairy underneath.
