| Short-lived shrub that usually has 5-petaled white to dark pink flowers; each bloom only
lasts for one day. One way to distinguish this family from Eschscholzia (poppies) is that Cistuses have persistent
sepals. Deer resistant. Suitable for border, on sunny banks, at base of walls, around paved areas, or in containers. All photos taken near the Beach Chalet in Golden Gate Park (photo below is of Cistus x skanbergii) |
