| Most common palm in Bay Area. There are a dozen species of Phoenix, about 6 of them are used here (these are the ones on Dolores Street in San Francisco, for example). Most palms are diecious. Height is 40-60' max. Great bird habitat (parrots of Telegraph Hill). Sharp thorns at base of fronds. |
